Grizzlies Practice CourtFounded in 1995 as an NBA expansion team into Canada, the Grizzlies spent six seasons in Vancouver before relocating to Memphis, Tennessee in 2001. In 2012, Robert Pera became controlling owner of the team, with well-known partners including former NBA player Penny Hardaway, Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning and local Memphis product and musician Justin Timberlake.

As one of the youngest franchises in the NBA, the Grizzlies have seen their share of success, making six playoff appearances since moving to Memphis with the help of noted players including Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley, Shane Battier and Mike Miller. The Grizzlies achieved franchise history during the 2013 Playoffs by advancing to the Western Conference Finals as the fifth seed in the Western conference after winning a franchise-record 56 games in the regular season.

Located in the heart of downtown Memphis, next to the famed Beale Street, FedExForum has been home to the Memphis Grizzlies and University of Memphis Tigers basketball team since the 2004 season. Breaking ground in 2002, FedExForum is the largest public building construction project in Memphis history. The versatile venue has hosted numerous notable sports and entertainment events including Regional Finals for NCAA men’s and women’s basketball, NHL hockey, WWE, boxing, UFC events and concerts, making it the premier entertainment venue in the Mid-South.
